Rajab Butt is a renowned Pakistani digital creator with a substantial following on all the social media platforms. He has 5.62 million YouTube subscribers. The digital creator recently grabbed the spotlight due to his lavish wedding events and his arrest. He was arrested for keeping a Lion cub at home which was gifted to him at his wedding.
The case was filed against the YouTuber by a wildlife officer.
He admitted to his crime and has been sentenced to one year. According to the Wildlife Act under Section 12, he was punished for a year. He accepted the charges and surrendered before the court. He was quite cooperative, which is why, as part of his punishment, he will be vlogging about animal rights for one year. According to the lawyers, this is a very positive decision by the court.
In his court apology, Rajab Butt said, “I admit that the lion cub was found in my possession illegally. I didn’t know that wild animals cannot be received as gifts. I now understand that it is inappropriate to keep wild animals at home. I regret my actions, and as a social media influencer, I should focus on creating positive content. I was not authorized to keep the cub, and I set a wrong example. Recognising my mistake, I will voluntarily offer community service through my social media platform and spread a positive message about the rights of wild animals.
