Mitti De Baway is a popular Pakistani drama series directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain and written by Faiza Iftikhar. The drama features an ensemble cast, with Wahaj Ali and Mahira Khan as the main leads. Film stars Sahiba and Jan Rambo were also seen in the initial episodes of the drama as young Iqbal’s parents. Portrayed as folk Mirasi artists from Lyallpur, Faisalabad, their beautiful scenes quickly went viral on social media.

The initial episodes generated immense hype due to the couple’s charming on-screen presence. The way they performed Punjabi tappe went viral, earning widespread love from fans. Many were of the view that they brought silver-screen charm to the television screen, prompting many to start watching the drama because of their viral scenes.

Recently, Sahiba and Rambo’s son, Ahsan Afzal Khan, revealed that he was the one who convinced his parents to accept these iconic guest roles in Mitti De Baway.

Speaking to Raheel Baig at a press event, Ahsan Afzal Khan said, “First of all I want to reveal that I convinced them to do this role and see it’s getting viral. I had a few sessions with them where I told them it’s a big drama. The main clash that came was that my parents were reluctant, saying, “It is a short role of two episodes, it’s less screen time”, to which I said, “it doesn’t matter, it is a work that will get registered.” Now, I have started understanding the trends more because I interact with people more. I urged them not to leave this role.” Watch here:
