Rashid Mehmood is a popular Pakistani veteran actor who has done numerous hit PTV dramas till date. Rashid Mehmood is known for his excellent acting in negative characters. His eloquent way of speaking is also loved by the fans. Rashid Mehmood has served Radio Pakistan as well. The actor was once an important part of all the Lahore centre’s PTV dramas. His famous dramas are Shaheen, Kajal Ghar, Mirza Ghalib, Riyasat, Mohabbat Rooth Jaye To and others. Rashid Mehmood has survived three heart attacks and he also suffered partial body paralysis. Currently, he is residing in Lahore.
Lately, the actor made headlines after sharing his heavy electricity bill with the social media users. He gave an interview to the Lahore based YouTuber Moeen Zubair and opened up about his electricity bill’s taxes and his consumption.
He has recently given another interview to Lahore Rang, the actor has disclosed his current condition after paying heavy electricity bill and also revealed the reason behind his protest.
Talking about it, Rashid Mehmood said, “I have turned off all the lights and my AC as well. I will now use this air conditioner in the winters because in the current scenario, we can’t afford to use the air-conditioner”. Rashid Mehmood also said that he has a hard earned money, but still he can pay his bills with his own income. He said, “the purpose of my protest was to speak on the behalf of people not because I wanted help from the government. Alhamdulillah, I have paid my bill through my money”. Rashid Mehmood said that he used 700 units in which he also used AC, normally he gives twenty thousand for this much consumption but this month his bill was worth twenty nine thousand rupees which he could easily pay but what enraged him was the additional charges of approximately sixteen thousand rupees, in the name of taxes. He said that these hidden taxes are very hard to pay by poor people. Rashid Mehmood said that he lives a very simple life because he earned a clean money through a lot of hard work.
