Rehan Tariq is a renowned Pakistani journalist, public speaker, and host who successfully transitioned into digital media as a popular podcaster. He holds an engineering degree from UET. Currently, he is associated with 24 News HD, where he hosts two shows: the prime-time current affairs program Dastak on 24 News HD and the hard-hitting podcast Rehan Tariq Show (RTS) in collaboration with 24 Plus.

Today, while returning to Pakistan from the UK, Rehan Tariq was stopped at Lahore Airport. He was informed that his name had been placed on the PNIL (Passport/Provisional National Identification List). Following this, he was detained at the airport for around four to five hours as authorities waited for the NCCIA team to arrive.

During this time, Rehan Tariq contacted his journalist friends and informed them that he had been stopped and detained. He remained at the airport for several hours and was initially not informed about the case registered against him. After a few hours, the NCCIA team arrived at the airport, took custody of Rehan Tariq, and took him with them. According to sources, the case is reportedly related to a podcast he recently conducted with Javed Naqvi. The podcast allegedly contained controversial content, following which some religious scholars reportedly filed a complaint against him. Based on that complaint, an inquiry was initiated. Rehan Tariq is expected to be presented before the District Courts today, possibly before Judge Naeem Bhutto. Watch the video of Rehan Tariq with his lawyer:
