Barzakh is the latest offering by Zee5 and Zee Zindagi. It is a Pakistani show made by Asim Abbasi and starring Fawad Khan, Sanam Saeed, M Fawad Khan and Salman Shahid. Barzakh is under a lot of criticism right now for its queer themes and viewers are not liking the bold aspects of the story line. Many artists have also criticized Barzakh while others have stood in support that all types of content can be made.
Rubina Ashraf is a veteran artist who has a huge list of dramas under her belt and she also reviews other dramas in a show. She was a guest on Subh Saveray Samaa Ke Saath and she had an interesting take on Barzakh. She defended the drama by giving several examples of other shows.
Rubina said that we have made dramas on many topics that are considered taboos. She added that we made Udaari and Mayi Ri in this country. We have made dramas on incest even. Dramas show the reality of society and not vice versa. Thus Barzakh is also a drama that is showing a reality and people can choose to protect themselves from what is happening in this world.
