Recently, Sabiha Hashmi appeared on Fuchsia Magazine’s YouTube show, hosted by Rabia Mughal. During the show, she spoke about her love marriage and shared advice for a successful married life.


Talking about her love marriage, Sabiha Hashmi said, “Yes, I had a love marriage, but now please don’t ask me further questions. “I refrain from talking about it because I am now a mother and grandmother. Yes, it was a love marriage, and love marriages were quite common in our time. In our families, children’s consent was always taken. I agree that when two people live together, things change. Love often turns into a reality check after marriage due to life experiences—you have to deal with in-laws, children, and other responsibilities. Often, love fades after marriage.” Watch here:
While giving advice to young couples, she said, “Although marriage is a relationship based on equality but mutual respect is very important. Both husband and wife should respect each other. If respect for the spouse is lacking, the entire relationship suffers. Couples often expect too much from each other, so both should develop patience and avoid competition. My rule is: when the husband is angry, stay quiet; when he is calm, you can express your opinion.” Watch here:
