Sahir Lodhi is a renowned Pakistani television host and former actor who began his career as an actor on PTV. Later, with the arrival of private television channels, Sahir Lodhi transitioned to hosting and never looked back. However, he also acted in his own production, Raasta, a feature film that was released a few years ago. Besides his television appearances, Sahir is also a well-known radio presenter with a large fan following, including among celebrities.
Recently, news regarding Sahir Lodhi has been circulating in the print and digital media, with reports claiming that he has been booked in a fraud case.
According to the details, his business partner, Naghma Gul, approached the court with a complaint against Sahir Lodhi, alleging that he had given her eight cheques that bounced. An FIR was subsequently registered against Lodhi on the directions of the court. Police registered the case against Sahir Lodhi under Section 489-F of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), which deals with dishonestly issuing a cheque that is dishonoured, along with Section 34, which relates to common intention.
Naghma Gul stated that she is a widow and lives in Landhi. She said that she invested money with Sahir Lodhi on the suggestion of an acquaintance. According to her complaint, she gave Lodhi Rs. 4 million for investment purposes. She alleged that Lodhi later paid her Rs. 250,000 and Rs. 400,000 as profits from the investment. She further alleged that Sahir Lodhi subsequently gave her eight more cheques at different times against the investment, all of which bounced due to insufficient funds in Lodhi’s account.
