Saima Qureshi recently made headlines after her statement regarding women’s earning and the importance of second marriage in a. Islamic society.
Talking about it, Saima Qureshi said, “I recently gave an interview that went viral. Many people have complaints about my statements, but they have only seen a teaser of the show. I would request them to watch the complete show. I said that women’s earnings do not necessarily bring prosperity and bliss, which is true. Now, I am not urging anyone to stop earning, but this is a fact—I have experienced it myself. I earn a lot, but I am always worried about my savings, expenses, and budget”.
She further added, “I understand that many women are suffering from financial crises, and it is good that they earn. Women need to be independent, but their earnings alone do not guarantee prosperity. Allah has given the role of provider and protector to men. You gave the example of Hazrat Khadija as a businesswoman, and I completely agree. However, I have not discouraged anyone from working. You acknowledge Hazrat Khadija as a businesswoman, but you do not agree with women getting married at a later age. I am not saying that happily married men should go for a second marriage.”
Saima Qureshi recently appeared in Adnan Faisal’s podcast where she talked about second marriage and earning women. Here is the link to the video:
