Salman Shahid is a legend of Pakistan. He has worked in theatre, television and films. He has also worked in international projects. His screen presence is phenomenal and fans love when they see him in a character. He knows how to pull the audience and he never fails to win hearts.
Recently, revival of films saw a big light of hope as the Punjab Government approved grants to 30 filmmakers to make films while they also announced the establishment of a Film City in Lahore. People have welcomed this move largely but Salman Shahid has a shocking take on it. He spoke about this on Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast.
Salman said that making a Film City is basically copying India. They have a Film City so we will have one too. This is how it sounds. Plus we need more good filmmakers and not simply infrastructure. What will you do when you won’t make a good film after making a big film city. Thus working on the artist and preserving their talent is what should have been the main priority.
