Samar Jafri plays Wali in Parwarish. The drama is tackling Gen Z issues including mental health, pressure from parents and at the same time, it is also speaking about the challenges of parenting. Young romance and one-sided attraction is also addressed in the show and some of it is very realistic and reflective of today’s day and age. There has also been backlash with people disliking how students are being shown falling in love. Samar has his own take on Gen Z romance shown in Parwarish and he spoke about it on Something Haute.
Samar Jafri spoke about Amal’s one-sided attraction for Wali. He said that Amal is shown as a very studious girl. She has nothing to do with love and romance. She saw Wali as a potential boy whom she can fall for. He was close to her and very open to her. Thus it was natural that she felt attraction. Wali, only saw her as a friend and somewhat took her care for granted. He knows she is a problem solver and a great friend and that is how he looks at her.
This is what he shared:
Samar Jafri also pointed out that he is not particularly thinking about starring in mainstream romances but he can look into it if a script is right. He pointed out that we still do not show young love on our screens. The kind we know exists in real life like Wali is ready to leave his whole world for Maya. He has seen such love with his friends but that is never really showcased on Pakistani television. We need to get those stories on our TV.
Here is his take:
