He also acted in Doosra Aasman, Sheeshey Ka Ghar, Naseeb, Saaya 2, Teri Behisi, Saiban, Bikhray Lamhe, and several others. Bikhray Lamhe marked his directorial debut, after which he went on to direct hit dramas like Sharakat, Pyari Nimmo, Saaya 2, and many more. Sami Sani currently lives in the USA but often travels to Pakistan for work commitments.

Replying to the question, “Why you left acting despite being so successful?”, Sami Sani said, “I don’t consider myself successful. I did everything including acting and direction, but I believe success is in Allah’s hands. Yes, I received appreciation. I accidentally joined acting, and it just kept happening. I left it because I am an Aquarius, which is a water sign, and water never stops; if it does, it stinks. It is not in my nature to do just one thing. I love exploring different things and feel monotonous doing the same job. I am still not fully satisfied with both acting and direction.”
Talking about what he is doing currently, he said, “Right now, I am doing direction, but that doesn’t mean I have left acting. You will see me doing both. I worked continuously as a director for eight years and directed multiple hit shows. I was a bit tired and decided to take a break. I am currently reading a script and will soon resume directing.”
