She sat for an interview with Aamna Haider Isani and spoke about the industry, her career and her thoughts on relationships and women supporting women.
Recently we have seen actresses speaking on women issues and feminism in a very different tone. Saima Qureshi at first said that a woman’s money which she earns for her household is not blessed. The statement caused quite a stir. Then came Sarah Khan’s recent statement that she is not a feminist. She cannot stand in line to pay her bills and she wants her husband to do that for her. Samina Peerzada has now spoken about these issues in a great way and this is how it should be done and understood.
Samina Peerzada said that there should be chivalry from a man’s side. The paying of bills, the opening of doors is all very important. But that reflects on a man’s character and not on a woman’s and this is what needs to be understood. She said that if she has to open a door, she will open it but when a man does it, the first thing that comes to her mind is how that man’s mother has trained him to respect women. It reflects on his character and upbringing. She also added that a woman’s money not being blessed is also a farce. She has contributed a lot to her daughter’s education while her husband built them a house. They both respected each other’s contributions and built a life together.

She will also actively help him and his family. Similarly, Usman Peerzada has always supported their family, her and he played his part in taking care of Samina’s mother. He was loved deeply by Samina’s mom and Samina Peerzada was loved by Usaman’s mother and this is how a marriage should be with support and love for family.
