Sarwat Gilani is a well-known Pakistani television and film actress who is lauded for her strong performances in dramas. Fans also admire her choice of roles. Fans love her memorable portrayals in hit dramas like Azar Ki Ayegi Baraat, Mere Dard Ko Jo Zuban Miley, Meri Zaat Zarra e Benishan, Zakhm, Mata e Jaan Hai Tu, Mann Piyasa, Seeta Baagri, and Khasara. She is currently getting praise for her acting in Biryani.

Recently, Sarwat Gilani appeared on Madeha Naqvi’s morning show Subh Ka Samaa on Samaa TV. In the show, she talked about creating the character look of Gul Meher and also shared her thoughts on stepping away from morning shows.

Talking about creating Gul Meher, she said, “I was called by Badar Mehmood. He said, ‘I’m calling you after 11 years, which shows how much I want you in this character.’ He narrated Gul Meher to me, after which I called my mother and told her to go to Hala. The next day, we were there. I collected Ajraks — most of the outfits were my own because I love wearing loose kurtas, etc. A lot of my kurtas are from Fashion Diva. Fans are loving Gul Meher’s outfits; there are great memes about her clothing, like people don’t want Meeran but Gul Meher’s outfits. All the jewelry was my own, which I got polished for the character. I wanted to manufacture Gul Meher as the kind of girls we see.”
Talking about quitting the morning show Rise and Shine, she said, “I loved doing the morning show. I love such opportunities where I get to talk about issues. I had a wonderful time because I could question relevant people — although I was limited, it was still fun. I enjoyed discussing issues. I left it because my term was for six months only, and my daughter was just six months old. Then I had to start the mother-toddler program with her, which meant the mother had to be with the toddler, and their timings were early morning. Mothers make all sacrifices for their kids; children should know about their sacrifices.”
