Talking about her mental health after her husband’s death, Shagufta Ejaz said, “You all know about my husband’s sickness and passing. You have seen all the phases of my life during these days before Yahya’s death. Finally, we gave him a farewell five months ago. It was quite difficult for me to process this; I was taking my time. I was not okay. I could see mental health issues. I was disappointed and sad. I thought that life had become difficult after him. It’s not that I have no work or no opportunities, but still, he was a supportive figure in my life. He used to encourage me and support me”.
She further added, “People say that there is always a woman behind a successful man, but it’s the other way around too, as my husband stood by me through thick and thin. He was part of our grief and joy. I practiced iddat in isolation. I spent time with Nabiha and Eman, and my bond with my little ones grew stronger. I was also going through your comments. I was helpless. I also took medical help for depression. I visited a psychiatrist too.” Here is the link to the video:”
