Shaan Shahid and Meera are two Pakistani film stars who are currently making headlines for their new film Psycho, which was released in cinemas on Eid al-Adha 2026. The film is receiving mixed reviews, with some praising its concept and performances, while others believe the actors still follow an outdated cinematic approach. Recently, Shamoon Abbasi also spoke about their film Psycho. He revealed on Madeha Naqvi’s morning show Subh Ka Samaa that he had not watched the film.

Shamoon Abbasi also called out the actors for their arrogance and stubborn attitude.

Replying to Madeha Naqvi’s question, “Why are we still debating the Karachi vs Lahore film industry divide?” Shamoon Abbasi said, “This statement is always made by Shaan Shahid. I don’t know why he discusses such controversial things. I have spoken about it multiple times before. This divide was created by him. He is called Pakistan’s film star; no one calls him Lahore’s star, Karachi’s star, or even Punjab or Sindh or Balochistan’s star. Why talk like this? Two and a half years ago, Meera was worried and said she would commit suicide if she was not given work. I called her, we talked and discussed, and we provided her support, after which she went to Shaan and they made a film. After the film release, she started giving statements like Gen Z can’t compete with me. A few years ago, she was literally crying for work, and today she is showing the same arrogance. I don’t know why they become so proud after one or two films. Why make such statements? This arrogance should end. Artists should not be rude; we should be humble. Shaan should not have started the Karachi-Lahore debate. Shaan Shahid is the one who never listens to anyone else in this regard. He always gives his bitter statements”
