Recently, ARY Network’s head Salman Iqbal revealed that Netflix asked him for Pakistani content. He rejected the offer as he wants to grow local OTT platform in the country. Shamoon Abbasi does not agree with Salman Iqbal’s statement and spoke against his opinion in a video on Instagram.


Shamoon Abbasi was very realistic with his words. He shared that he does not agree with Salman Iqbal. Our content is not taken by OTT as it is not technically sound enough. We are not even familiar with proper colour grading. If we want to reach Netflix, we need to fulfil technical requirements and a local OTT will not be an equivalent to it. We need to work on our shortcomings and not just keep making excuses on why our content is not reaching international platforms.
