Today, Sharmeen Ali appeared on Good Morning Pakistan, hosted by Nida Yasir. On the show, she opened up about becoming the sole breadwinner after her divorce.
Sharmeen Ali said, “I had to become independent it after my separation because I had no other options left. My education was also not completed because I got married at a very early age. When I came back after my divorce, I didn’t want my parents to bear my expenses because it could be unfair to them as they were old. I started offering people services for designing clothes, home décor, and stuff. Luckily, it didn’t take more than three months before I got an offer from Nina Kashif. Although my family wasn’t comfortable with me joining showbiz, I had to be independent and make my own living. I came into showbiz and got settled. Yes, initially, I was getting fewer projects, but it was sufficient. Although I had my schooling abroad, all my experiences as an independent girl were undone after what I experienced in my marriage, so it didn’t benefit me much.
