Syed Noor is a senior Pakistani film maker, writer and producer who is known as one of the biggest star makers in the history of Pakistani cinema. He introduced superstars like Reema, Shaan, Meera, Resham, Sana, Saima, and others. Syed Noor’s notable directorial films are Choorian, Jeeva, Sangam, Sargam, Majajan, Tere Bajre Ki Rakhi, and others. Choorian was a blockbuster movie that broke all the records of cinema business. He is married to his film Choorian’s main lead Saima Khan.
Recently, Syed Noor appeared in Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast Excuse Me. In his interview, Syed Noor revealed that Ghoonghat was offered to a television actor for the character portrayed by Shaan Shahid.
Talking about it, Syed Noor said, “I cast Nauman Ijaz in the role of Shaan Shahid. He was there, but later left because of some personal issue. Shehzad Rafique and his friends were producing the film, but after Nauman Ijaz left, they didn’t agree to take Shaan. The producers then ran away. I refused to direct the film, but Shehzad Rafique trusted me and gave me a free hand. We wanted Neeli, but Sheikh Sahab took her away. So, we instantly needed someone for the female role, and I gave it to Saima. I cast these two relatively unsuccessful actors in my film which was a big rusk. Arbaaz was having his debut, a new girl Saira Khan was in the film, the whole cast was new, except for Resham. I was shooting in Tashgar when I heard that people are loving Ghoonghat and it had become a blockbuster hit. It was a blessing of Allah upon me”. Here is the link to the video:
