Tauseeq Haider is a seasoned Pakistani television announcer, host, and actor. He rose to timeless fame and recognition through his early PTV appearances as the host of live morning transmissions in the early 1990s. He made his acting debut a few years ago in a Turkish series alongside Atiqa Odho. Fans also praised his performances in Burns Road Kay Romeo Juliet, which aired last year, as well as Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, Jafaa, Behroopia, and other dramas. Nowadays, viewers are praising his performance in Geo TV’s hit serial Shaidai.
Recently, Tauseeq Haider appeared on the Point Blank podcast, where he called out the Pakistani audience for glorifying and considering Turkish history and ancient Islamic history as theirs.
Replying to the host’s question, “I don’t support Turkish dramas. I think they present distorted history. What do you have to say about it?” Tauseeq Haider said, “I don’t support Turkish dramas either. You bought a drama worth ten rupees for two rupees and aired it. You benefited from it, and the audience got to watch a high-quality production almost for free. But I have an ideological problem with it. They tell you that this is your history and present it to your generations, but it’s not our history. The Ottoman Empire or the Spanish Empire may have invaded lands or achieved great victories 700 years ago, but those were their achievements and their efforts.
