Recently, Sajal Malik appeared in a podcast hosted by Ali Hamza where she revealed her relationship with remarkable Pakistani actor and host Imran Ashraf.
Talking about it, she said, “Yes, Imran Ashraf is our relative. In fact, he is my mother’s cousin, and of course, he knows my mother, but we don’t meet. He only attends important family events like weddings, etc., but I haven’t met him yet—not even at any show. We feel proud that he’s our relative. I once approached him because I wanted to join showbiz. I sent direct message to him on Instagram, telling him I wanted to enter the field, but then I realized that it’s not right thing to seek help from relatives. At that time I wanted to become an actor, but anchoring happened accidentally”.
She further added, “Initially, I told Imran Ashraf on Instagram that I am his cousin’s daughter and shared a photo of my mother with him. He said he would try to refer me somewhere, but unfortunately, I lost access to my Instagram account and lost my chat thread with him.
