PIMS Hospital Islamabad was in the news for the most devastating development. The NICU had a short circuit resulting in immediate fire in the ward. 14 infants lost their lives in this tragic fire while only one baby girl survived the ordeal. A nurse rescued her from the fire and she was later taken to Polyclinic.
Aizal was the name of this sole survivor of PIMS tragedy. She was taken for further medical care but her lungs got severely affected by the smoke she inhaled. A sad news has now come out as the baby girl did not survive and passed away today. This is yet another painful reminder of this huge national tragedy.
