Talking about it, Uzma Gillani said, “I am willing to work in dramas. I was just telling Jamal Shah to get something written for me—God knows it may be my last play. But my concern is the roles given to elderly women in Pakistani dramas. Unfortunately, they are mostly portrayed as cruel mothers-in-law or rude, older relatives. I don’t want to play such roles.” Jamal Shah further added that her personality is different and carries wisdom and intellect—qualities that are rarely portrayed in Pakistani dramas.
