Recently, she made an appearance in Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast Excuse Me. In the podcast, she talked about her failed marriage and financial independence.
Veena Malik said, “It was an arranged marriage, and the proposal came through my parents. There comes a phase in everyone’s life when people want to escape, and in 2013, I was looking for an escape because I had so much fame and money that it was becoming hard for me to handle. Yes, I wanted money, but I didn’t want that much. I wanted fame, but not this much. So, I wanted to run away; I wanted to disappear. I was done with everything, and that’s why I signed the contract. It was a kind of transition for me, and it was the toughest time of my life. I am blessed with two kids through IVF, but the marriage was a mindless decision, and it turned out to be the biggest regret of my life.”
She further added, “I have always been independent. I haven’t taken money from anyone. The last time I took pocket money from my parents was at 14, and to this day, I have my own money. I don’t take gifts, and I don’t give gifts. I am financially sorted.”
