Waqar Hussain is a celebrity makeup artist and one of the most famous names in the Pakistani beauty industry. He is also a very talented actor and his stint as Abdul Wadood in Qudussi Sahab Ki Bewa is legendary. He has since not been seen in many acting roles and he has been away from dramas. He was speaking to Nadia Khan and shared the truth behind industry practices.
Waqar Hussain shared that he was never even offered any new characters after Qudussi as people thought he cannot do anything different. He held out for something unique. He also shared how makeup artists are being humiliated by producers and stars now. There are specific people who work with stars and a star will bring their own artist on set which makes the offers received by senior artists like Waqar, sometimes absurd.
Waqar Hussain shared that he will sometimes gets a call that he is required to do makeup of the whole teams while the star will bring their own artist. Nadia Khan added that she has seen how a top starlet does her own makeup all the time but credit is taken by her favourite artist.
