Speaking about it, Waseem Abbas said, “I feel sad that his statement affected his son’s career, who was a great actor with so much potential and talent. He could have become a big actor; it was an injustice to him. The show where it was discussed had a huge backlash. People called him out, and women spoke up. He was boycotted, but I think it all happened behind the camera during a break. Firdous Jamal might have said something off camera, where he was challenged to say the same on air, and he might have accepted it and spoke, which was wrong. Such a statement is condemnable. Mahira Khan is a big star; we have a few stars, and it’s not our right to speak against successful people. If people are watching them, they are successful. His statement was in bad taste.
