Parveen Akbar is a veteran artist of Pakistan. She has worked in radio, theatre, film and dramas. She is known for her strong performances and she always impresses everyone with the way she carries herself on the screen. Her daughter Rabya Kulsoom, son Faizan Sheikh and daughter in law Maham Aamir are also a part of the industry. But initially she was not a fan of her daughter joining acting.
Parveen Akbar was a guest on Beenish Parvez’s show and spoke about being a part of showbiz since her childhood. She herself was a child artist. Her daughter Rabya Kulsoom also wanted to be an actress but she was never given permission to try her luck. Parveen Akbar revealed the reason for not allowing daughter to join her own profession.
The senior starlet shared that time was not the same as when she had started her career in showbiz. Things were not to her liking and she did not feel right for her own daughter to join such a space. Rabya was studying dentistry and she graduated and started her own clinic. That is when she was approached for a jelly ad. Parveen Akbar allowed her to do just one ad. This is the same time when Raby’s proposal came and she got married. She received offers for dramas after her marriage and since her in-laws were liberal, she was finally able to join acting.
