Pakistani dramas are loved worldwide for their relatable stories. What makes a drama lovable is how the characters are knitted. When fans can either relate to a character or admire them, then they can connect to the story more. How a character is designed is a major contributor to how fans will perceive not only that character but the whole show. Styling plays an important role for a character. Adeel from Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum was a prime example of how even a black character, when perfectly styled, can win hearts.
But many times, our Pakistani drama characters are not properly styled. This takes away not just from the story, but the audience’s ability to connect with the show. The year 2025 also introduced many characters that were not well-styled and looked out of place in the drama. Here is a list of actors with the worst styling in Pakistani dramas:
Zara Noor Abbas (Ek Jhooti Kahani)
Zara Noor Abbas starred in Hum TV’s Pakistani drama Ek Jhooti Kahani. It looked like a romantic comedy, and she was paired with Mohib Mirza for the first time. The show did not work, and Zara’s styling in the drama was also questioned. Her makeup was loud, and her clothes looked gaudy. Yes, the story is colourful and a family drama, but her outfits did not complement her at all. Even her wedding look was over-the-top and did not suit her at all. Her styling has gotten better in the latest episodes, but initially, things could have been better.
Hiba Bukhari (Main Zameen Tu Aasman)
Hiba Bukhari is among the top actresses of Pakistani dramas. She made her acting comeback after giving birth to her daughter in Main Zameen Tu Aasman. She was playing a young girl, still in her studies, but rebellious enough to take on anyone trying to harm her father. Her outfits chosen for the show were way too baggy. Yes, she had given birth, but she looked fine. Add to it the bandanas and weird accessories they made her wear to make her look younger, and the styling became truly questionable. Hiba is a very beautiful woman, but her makeup in the drama was also making her look dull. The overuse of bronzer was visible in scenes.
Durefishan Saleem (Sanwal Yaar Piya)
Durefishan Saleem replaced Iqra Aziz in the Pakistani drama Sanwal Yaar Piya. She is playing Piya, a girl in her early 20s at most, as she has just graduated from college and joined her first year of university. The school uniform in the very first scene was jarring to watch. Yes, Durefishan is a beautiful girl, but making her wear a school/college uniform was unnecessary. Add to that those hair bands. No Gen Z girl is wearing them.
Feroze Khan (Sanwal Yaar Piya)
Feroze Khan is a superstar of Pakistani dramas. He is currently appearing as Aliyar in the mega show Sanwal Yaar Piya. He is also playing a young student, but his look seems way too polished for a young guy. The gelled back hair, tight-fitted pants are not the style of today’s youngsters. Feroze has looked more like himself than the character Aliyar in the show, which is the opposite of how Ahmed Ali Akbar looked as Sanwal.
Hareem Farooq (Sharpasand)
Hareem Farooq is appearing in Sharpsand. This Pakistani drama made the audience question their surroundings and how we all know someone who looks seemingly positive, but they are not positive at all in reality. Hareem is playing a young woman who is married to the love of her life, and she has her own thoughts and opinions. But her styling in the show, from outfits to accessories, has looked haphazard. Hareem also has a personal style, but it does not reflect in the character. The character looks like it was put together with everything that was available at hand. Add to it how perfectly styled Nouman Ijaz and Hira Mani are, so Hareem at times looks jarring.
Sajal Aly (Main Manto Nahi Hoon)
Sajal Aly is one of the biggest stars of Pakistani dramas. She chose to play Mehmal in Main Manto Nahi Hoon. The character turned out to be so problematic that the majority of viewers wanted her to end up with the villain. In addition to that, Mehmal did not dress as a 21-22-year-old going to a university. She was always dressed as a newlywed bride. Wearing bangles and juhmkis to university with her hair always open is completely impractical for a student in Lahore. Moreover, we saw how the women of the two families observed the pardahs and went to the dargahs. How on earth could she wear a see-through lehenga shirt at her wedding? Make it make sense.
Sahar Hashmi (Man Mast Malang)
Sahar Hashmi is a young actress and a new entrant in the Pakistani drama industry. She starred in one of the most-watched shows this year. Man Mast Malang was extremely problematic, but Sahar’s styling was also nothing to write home about. People are still questioning how the guy fell in love with her at first sight when she had that plastic red rose in her hair. And once again, the obsession with that school uniform is unbearable.
Amar Khan (Dil E Nadan)
Dil e Nadan was not a simple Pakistani drama. It was a campaign against Amar Khan. They not only gave a beautiful actress the dumbest role ever, but also gave her the worst possible styling. She was also put in the white college uniform with extremely well-styled hair. And her traditional clothes post marriage were not making sense for the family she was married into.
