Lately, he made an appearance in the YouTube show Something Haute, hosted by Amna Isani. In the show, he talked about the production of substandard content by the Pakistani drama industry. He also revealed why he doesn’t want his son to join this drama industry.
Talking about it, he said, “Our industry isn’t a good one. I don’t want my son to join this industry. It is okay if he chooses to enter the industry; I won’t stop him. I would not stop him from doing anything he wants unless it is harmful to anyone. However, I am not in favor of him joining showbiz. Is this a job? What does an actor do? To act, to act well so that his craft will be remembered. Our content isn’t good. How can a content be good if it is supposed to end in 24 episodes but is deliberately dragged out to 40 episodes? People are watching these dramas because they don’t have Netflix at home. Have you seen India’s dramas? People who have substandard dramas are watching your drama and this is the reason why India is watching it. I will accept that our drama is good if Koreans start watching it, if Americans start watching it. I will accept that our drama is good if the international audience begins watching it despite the language barriers, similar to how Turkish and Korean dramas are being watched.”
