In the past few years, many young Pakistani actors made their mark in big and small roles. Pakistani dramas represent Pakistani culture to the outside world since the beginning. Our dramas were always more popular than our films, and this phenomenon became stronger with time, especially after the downfall of the film industry in the late 90s and early 2000s. Thus, the talent that comes into dramas gets recognized more and the young actors with talent get fame within days if their characters become hits. With the growth of the drama industry, new talent is coming in from different platforms. Lately, there has been an influx of actors who deserve appreciation because of how much promise they have exhibited even from the limited chances they have been given.

Shuja Asad
Shuja Asad always wanted to be an actor. He is an outsider and started out with commercials. He was seen in Green TV’s College Gate which was shot and then the release was delayed a lot. Shuja then made his actng debut opposite Nelam Muneer in the drama Pyar Deewangi Hai on ARY Digital. He was getting different roles but Geo’s Khaie has established him as a star to look forward to.
Shuja Asad played the grey-shaded Barlas Khan and that character has opened many doors for him. People have now noticed the young talent and he is surely a star with the potential to become a big name soon.
Sheikh Mubashir Mehmood
Sheikh Mubashir Mehmood is another promising addition to the industry. He actually made his debut with Dar Si Jati Hai Sila and later on took a break as he was really young then. He has a theatre background and he was very active in his university. He finally made a comeback to television with Jeevan Nagar and he just hit it out of the park while he was working with such big names.
Mubashir actually started his struggle when he was an intermediate student. He first gave an audition for Bol TV when he was taking an intermediate examination. He later on went on audition for Dar Si Jati Hai Sila and got his break by beating 30 boys in that audition:
Sheikh Mubashir Mehmood is winning heats right now as Roshan in Zard Patton Ka Bunn and he is showing the producers as well as the viewers how talented he is and he can bring fresh creativity to the screens.
Samar Jafri
Samar Jafri is a young face who took the industry by storm not too long ago as Fakhar in the drama Mayi Ri. Samar started his career as a child star as he used to appear in advertisements. He also has a huge love for music. Samar Jafri was feeling down in life when he got the opportunity in the form of Mayi Ri and that drama made him into a household name.
Samar has a lot of potential and he just made his film debut with Nabeel Qureshi’s Na Baligh Afraad in a lead role. He is not taking up any dramas for now as he is not getting the characters that he wishes to play.
Aina Asif
Aina Asif is another talented youngster on the block and she proved her potential as she played the lead in Mayi Ri. Aina Asif has conquered the hearts of the audience at just 15 years old. She made her acting debut with Hum TV’s Hum Tum and later appeared in Pinjra. With Mayi Ri, she established herself as a lead actress at a very young age and she is definitely the talent to watch out for in the upcoming years.
Aina is working in more dramas and she is even taking negative roles. In the years to come she has the potential to rule the industry.
Janice Tessa
Janice Tessa started her journey through TikTok. She is very beautiful and her reels were noticed at first where she was approached for a role. Janice Tessa is a face who is right from the start, calling out colourism in the industry and handling everything in the right manner. She was noticed for her role in Habs and her ketchup meme also got super viral.
Janice is also an outsider of the industry. She gave auditions and later on she got a call for Habs. Here is how Janice came into acting:
She is right now playing Fabiha in Hasrat and the actress has shown her mettle through the character and fans are already looking forward to her next projects.
Shaheera Jalil Al Basit
Shaheera Jalil Al Basit, a Full Bright scholar always had a lot of love for acting. She got professionally into the field after she came back and she was doing a job in Islamabad. Shaheera revealed that she went through gruelling auditions for 2 years and that is when a miracle happened as she bagged Razia, a mini-series that put her on the map and Shaheera was applauded by everyone in and out of the industry.
Shaheera has once again managed to shine in Burns Road Ke Romeo Juliet. She openly acknowledges the camps and lobbies in the industry but vows to keep following her passion and give better and stronger performances.
Tamkenat
Tamkenat is a doctor, activist and content creator. She had a massive following on social media already when she started getting offers for acting. She did not want to do any run off the mill show so later on made her debut with a comedy. What actually showcased her real talent is Standup Girl. She shined as phupho in the show and her talent was visible for all to see.
Tamkenat is a natural in front of the camera but she is not going to sign for every drama coming her way thus viewers will get her in small pockets in projects with substance.
Usman Javed
Usman Javed started out with a very negative role in the mega drama Jhok Sarkar. The drama has the biggest cast and his character had a very distinct look and accent. He was able to outshine both Asif Raza Mir and Farhan Saeed in a single frame and that speaks a lot about the new entrant’s capability as an actor.
He has once again proved himself in Sultanat and this is another name to watch out for in future.
Umer Dar
Umer Dar is another talent who has not only proved himself on the screens but also mentored many other young actors who are making their way on the screens. Young actors like Talha Chahour and Sheikh Mubashir Mehmood have praised him for his supportive attitude and his own craft is very natural.
Be it Jo Bichar Gaye or Kabli Pulao, Umer Dar has outdone himself and public wants to see more of him soon.
Mamya Shajaffar
Mamya Shajaffar aka Maham Shahd is leading the new crop of artists as she is dominating the drama, films and fashion space. Mamya is not afraid to express her love for fashion and she is working with some big names in fashion like Hussain Rehar and Fahad Hussyn. She also managed to win hearts with some big performances in dramas like Meesni, Jhok Sarkar and Jaan Se Pyara Juni.
