Zara Abid was a supermodel who made a name for herself in the fashion industry in a very short amount of time. She came from a humble background and got ahead through hard work and dedication. She was the face of all the big brands and she was stepping into acting when she tragically lost her life in the 22nd May 2020 crash of PIA in Karachi.
Today on the 5th anniversary of her passing, her mother spoke to Independent Urdu about her journey and how much she misses her daughter. She revealed that Zara always wanted to be a doctor but the financial conditions of the family made her step into modelling. She became a son of the house and supported them all after her father’s death. Zara Abid was a shoulder everyone could lean on and she was really hardworking. She revealed that she still has recordings of her voice which she listens to.
Zara Abid’s mother revealed that Zara told her in the last call that she will give her a surprise but the surprise that came has stayed with her since last 5 years. Zara’s mother complained that the industry really forgot her daughter and there were no memorials arranged for her when she was a very hardworking part of it. She believes that a documentary should be made on Zara’s life on how she fought against the odds and found success.
She added that she can never forget those two days as she saw her daughter’s body with her face intact and they burried her on the day of Eid. Here are the memories that Zara Abid’s mother shared with the world:
