Omar Sharif was a brilliant Pakistani comedian, host and actor. He was an internationally famous and well to do Pakistani celebrity. Besides this, Omar Sharif was a humble and practicing Muslim. According to his friends and family, Omar Sharif was a gem of a person who used to help poor people with a big heart.
Lately, his wife Zareen Omar appeared in Aaj Tv’s Ramadan transmission where she talked about Omar Sharif’s God fearing nature and his religious side.
Talking about his closeness to Islam, she said, “Omar Sharif was once offered Ramadan transmission which he was reluctant to do, he was fearing if public won’t accept him in the religious programme. I said to him, ‘listen Omar, if you would be doing this transmission, you would be doing it for real, because you are an extremely kind, religious and God fearing person. You should definitely do it’. You know! he first observed Aitkaf when he was ten years old. He used to offer prayers, I know it should be done by all as per duty but besides this, he used to offer, Ashrak prayer,Chasht prayer and other Nawafils too. The staff members at the channel must have heard his long prayers (Duas) , he used to do ten minutes long ‘Dua’ in which he used to mention all the Prophets and their respected wives. Besides this, Zareen Omar told that Omar Sharif was an extremely kind-hearted person especially when someone used to come to him to seek help for his/her daughter’s wedding and dowry. She said, “Omar married off multiple poor girls, those girls met with Omar Sharif as well, once we were doing shopping and a girl came to us, she said, ‘You helped me in my marriage, because of you, I am living a happily married life’. Once a woman came to our house, gave the list of daughter’s wedding expenses and said, ‘these things should be done by tomorrow’, and Omar arranged each and everything”.
