The Solis festival 2020 in Islamabad was a complete disaster. Famous comedian Ali Gul Pir speaks against harassment and mismanagement at the festival.
He spoke against harassment and said, “Anyone saying “what were they expecting” or “men and women together dancing then this is expected” needs to visit other Islamic countries.”
He further added, “This is not an Islamic country issue, this is lack of law and order and jahalat. If you the educated lot is victim-blaming then what can be expected from the masses.”
The popular comedian gave examples of Muslim countries and said, “Saudi, Dubai, Malaysia all have such events, but they don’t grope girls who are collapsed under the stage. We all should be ashamed and demand justice!”
Ali Gul Pir posted a series of tweets and said, “Except for #solis managements utter failure n their lame excuses of fake tickets in this day and age of QR code. Pakistanis really need to question themselves why they would grope a woman whose leg is trapped under a fallen stage or call her a “gashti” if she’s wearing a top.”

He further posted, “Or gang up and molest a girl in a concert if she’s seen alone or with just one guy (I have personally seen this as a teenager at least thrice). These people are Pakistanis, they are not aliens or foreigners. Sad to see this side of our country. Truly harrowing.”
