Umer Shareef, is a famous Pakistani comedian , actor, director, Producer, writer, composer, author, poet and television personality. He is considered as one of the huge comedian in the sub-continent. His drama ‘Baqra Qiston Pay’ got immense popularity in India and Pakistan.
Umer Sharif was recently invited in Ary Digital’s special Ramadan show ‘GMP Shaan-e-Sahoor’ which is being hosted by Nida Yasir.
In the show Umer Sharif told Nida about his start as theater artist ,he told interesting story about fetching a leading role in a drama from the small roles.
Umer Sharif said, ‘ I always performed small roles in place of the actors who died on the spot or didn’t show up due to any energemcy, I was considered to be more an emergency actor back then ‘
He further said, ‘ one day I was performing in the Adam Ji hall and I got a message from next hall, the director called me, he said to perform the main character on emergency note. The director told me to perform in place of Patel Ji ( famous lead actor of that time ) , who died a night before the drama’
‘ I was shocked to hear and prepared the role, which was of an Orthodox Hindu Cleric, I entered in the hall with Hindu Mantra, I delivered it and the audience started clapping ” , explained Umer Sharif.
He said that after that he got best actor award and he also got a one year drama agreement with car and patrol, he said that he didn’t look back after that.
