Adeel Akhtar Becomes First Non-White To Win Best Actor BAFTA Award

Adeel Akhtar becomes the first non-white British Muslim to win best actor BAFTA award in its 62-year history.

The 36-year-old actor is half Kenyan and half Pakistani. In 2016 Akhtar appeared as Shahzad in the BBC drama Murdered by My Father. He won the 2017 BAFTA award for Lead Actor for this role.
