Talking about how Aap Ki Izzat came to him, Ahsan Khan said, “I was first offered it by Nina because it’s her production or initiative. Then I spoke to Momina Bhabhi. When I met Momina and Duraid, they were happy that I was back on HUM. The best thing about them is they make you feel so comfortable that you can’t say no. I was also a fan of Saifee. I say this on record because it’s a dream of every actor to work with a sensitive director like him. The detailing he gave to the story made it stand out. The script was also magical; it hooked me. I would like to mention Umera Ahmed—how is it possible that a Umera Ahmed script doesn’t hook you? The whole team made it what it looks like on screen now, from the actors to the makeup team and the director.” Watch here:

Talking about the criticism he has received for playing Tabish, Ahsan Khan said, “I have been verbally abused by people over Tabish, literally. If I can say, I read a comment where someone called me ‘haramzada.’ I was laughing at it because he wrote it for Tabish, but still, I thought this is getting too much. At least don’t abuse or curse. Also, I won’t say I performed good because I have always been hard on myself. I barely say that I did a good job, but I laugh at criticism. I also say it myself, ‘What a cheap man Tabish is.’”

Talking about working with Urwa Hocane again, Ahsan Khan said, “I met Urwa after years. Although, I have worked with Urwa in three projects; this is the fourth. I had always seen depth in her work. She worked with me in Marasim, Udaari, and Meri Laadli. In Udaari, she did a wonderful job. She works less by her own choice. She has so many layers. She has worked hard on this role and has made a comeback after years. She could have chosen a glamorous role, but she chose a role where she had to wear sweaters and bodysuits under suits, had to show a double chin, wear no makeup, and portray a woman with grown-up children.”
