Pakistani celebrities, like celebrities all over the world, are a part of the news cycle, not just for their work and projects but also for the statements they make. A star is loved for their positivity and humility, and they receive criticism if they propagate negativity constantly. Kangana Ranaut, from Bollywood, is a classic example of a star who gained support for their right stances in the beginning, but ended up becoming a joke for repeatedly criticising everyone all the time.
Many of our Pakistani stars have joined the same bandwagon. They only become a part of the news cycle and get noticed when they say something negative about their colleagues. Many of these names had great credibility among the public, but they have lost it due to their constant negativity. Here is a list of Pakistani celebrities who have lost their reputation over the years due to their criticism of others:
Firdous Jamal

Firdous Jamal was hands down a legend of the Pakistani television industry. From Man Chalay Ka Sauda to Pyare Afzal, the actor was always a fan and industry favourite, and he was known to show versatility and pick unique characters. However, something really went wrong as he was a guest on Faysal Quraishi’s morning show. He called Mahira Khan “an old hag” who should not be working as a heroine. This started an industry-wide boycott against him. He never apologised and doubled down on this new tirade as he started criticising Humayun Saeed and later even his old colleagues like Talat Hussain, Rahat Kazmi, Abid Ali, and Khyam Sarhadi, many of whom have passed away.
His fight with his wife of many decades, as well as his sons, also landed in public space and made life miserable for them. All of this combined made him lose his superstar status and credibility that he once held in the eyes of the audience.
Khalil ur Rehman Qamar

Khalil ur Rehman Qamar is one of the most successful names of the Pakistani showbiz industry. He is hands down the most successful writer in the industry, and he had a huge following due to his writing as well as his initial television appearances. But things went downhill when he started to appear in too many interviews. From his crusade against feminists to criticising stars like Mahira Khan, who called him out, he landed in multiple controversies. He even criticised a star like Saba Qamar for her award show outfits.
He unfortunately became news for being honey-trapped as well, and now he has a lot more haters in and out of his industry than he has fans.
Nadia Khan

Nadia Khan was known as the ultimate queen and pioneer of the Pakistani morning shows. She went on a break, and she later made a comeback in acting and hosting. She has now become a drama reviewer with Kya Drama Hai, and her dramatic antics have become her enemy. She often crosses a line as she rates the work of her own colleagues on the show. She has mocked them, has done parodies of their characters, and she can certainly be harsh with her words.
Nadia Khan is known more for her hosting skills and less for her acting, and thus any criticism coming from her ends up damaging her own credibility.
Fahad Mustafa

Fahad Mustafa is one of the biggest stars in the country. As an actor and a producer, he has made a presence which cannot be paralleled. The superstar also became a household name after he started hosting Jeeto Pakistan a decade ago. But he recently shocked the public when he could not handle simple advice from Atiqa Odho, who asked him to star with heroines of his age category, instead of young girls like Hania Aamir. He ended up making ageist comments against Atiqa Odho and asked her to get plastic surgery if she wants to work with him. The hateful comment made the audience call him out, and he had to lay low after the controversy as his films were being released.
Sangeeta

Sangeeta is a veteran of the Pakistani entertainment industry. She is an actress, director, and producer, and she made big hits in the film industry back in the day. She has also worked with many young names like Danish Taimoor and Aliya Ali, and she has built a camaraderie with them. Sangeeta has lately been making loose statements that have shocked everyone. First, she outed Saud Qasmi and Meera’s affair after years, when Saud is a father of two grown-up kids. She recently badmouthed Naeema Butt for giving her suggestions for her upcoming film Mukho, a project that is already gaining attention for not-so-good reasons.
Iqrar Ul Hassan

Iqrar Ul Hassan was once the most loved anchor in the news industry. His Sar e Aam won the love of the audience, and the way he was taking on people was what fans wanted to see him do all his life. But he decided to join politics, and he has since been targeting some people with a mega fan following. His stunt at the airport, where he started fighting an FIA officer, also went viral. His three marriages and problematic statements are not helping his credibility, and he has become extremely polarising for fans.
Dr Omer Adil

Dr Omer Adil is another Pakistani celebrity who has been a household name. From hosting shows about music and film on PTV to private networks, he was always known for being highly cultured and sophisticated. His YouTube career, however, brought another side of him in front of the world. His constant criticism and call-outs of the stars like Resham, Bushra Ansari, and even Madam Noor Jahan’s past have damaged his old image. He is still going strong, and he keeps appearing on different podcasts.
