The short haircut trend has grown in the Pakistani entertainment industry. It recently started with Hania Aamir, who has consistently kept her hair short but has used wigs whenever required in dramas like Meri Zindagi Hai Tu and Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum. The trend gained further popularity after Saheefa Jabbar Khattak repeatedly opted for short haircuts, followed by Sajal Aly and Saboor Aly.
Now, Alizeh Shah, who herself has had a bob cut in the past and has flaunted short hair in the television series Taana Bana, has come on social media and mocked actresses who have short haircuts.
Taking to her official Instagram account, Alizeh Shah wrote, “Please, for God’s sake, stop sacrificing your hair after getting inspired by actresses. Half of them are using wigs or extensions, and half of them have pinned up their hair after getting a short haircut. The ones in the media can easily wear wigs after a haircut, but you will have to wait three years for your hair to grow back to a certain length. Also, cutting your hair that short is a form of self-harm”

Social media users have given mixed reactions, with many saying the trend was started by Alizeh Shah herself and that she is now preaching against it. Others said she is aware of the harm of cutting hair short, which is why she is advising girls not to do it. A few also mocked Alizeh Shah for preaching after allegedly undergoing plastic surgeries.
