Talking about his marriage, Ahmed Rafique said, “Me and my wife first met at a friend’s birthday party. She came there for the first time, and we had a normal ‘hi hello’ the way it usually happens at birthday parties because you can’t interact with everyone due to big gatherings. She came there with my friend Sajjad. He still says that he’s the reason we connected. Initially, we didn’t speak much, but she got into our friends’ circle. We used to meet at coffee and chai dhabbas, our values aligned, and we started talking. I thought I should grab this chance Allah has given to me and by the third day I knew she was the one. There was no love phase; I knew I had to marry her. I know it sounds like a filmy situation, but as soon as I spoke to her, I felt that warmth. I knew then and there that she was the one I could spend my life with. I had previous experiences with women I thought I would marry, but let me tell you, the time you spend in a relationship before making it halal, the Devil harms your relationship. I know I might sound like a religious person, but that’s true. You should make it halal when you find the right partner.
