Arjumand Rahim is a famous Pakistani television actress who has been working in the industry for around 30 years. She is best known for her dramas such as Dil Pe Dastak, Hum Tum, Suno Chanda 2, Kuch Ankahi, Man Mayal, and Abdullahpur Ka Devdas. Recently, she was praised for her performance in the blockbuster drama serial Sher. Nowadays, she is also garnering appreciation for her role in Meri Zindagi Hai Tu.

Arjumand Rahim recently appeared on a show with Maliha Rehman for her digital channel. During the interview, Arjumand Rahim revealed that she had snatched the character of Shahtaj from a prominent actress in Sher.

Talking about it, Arjumand Rahim said, “I really enjoyed playing Shahtaj. In Sher, I was not offered the role of Shahtaj, nor was I considered for it by the makers. I wasn’t even their second or third choice. I read the script and really liked Shahtaj’s character. The role that was initially offered to me was quite ordinary to me. I then asked who was playing Shahtaj, and they told me a name they were considering but had not locked yet. They were planning to give it to someone else, which could have been their biggest mistake. Obviously, I am enjoying the success of Sher and I am very humbled by the warmth and love from the audience, but I snatched that role from someone because it was possibly the best-written character for my age. In Pakistan, women are often given stereotypical roles, usually shown as mothers worried about their children’s marriages. Shahtaj was different — she was a single, empowered woman. That’s why I took it.” Here is the link to the video:
