Bachaana (بچانا) is the second major Pakistani film released this year after Ho Mann Jahan (ہو من جہاں) released on 1st January 2016. Released on 26th February 2016, Bachaana has earned decent figures on the box office. The whole past week saw a major dip in the cinema business for two major reason. Firstly Cricket Asia Cup is in progress and secondly the law and order situation was tense through out the week due to hanging of Mumtaz Qadri the murderer of the former Governor of the Punjab Salman Taseer.

Despite these factors Bachaaana has emerged with decent figures and became the highest earning film of the week. The film has earned a total of 3.34 crores (33.40 million) rupees in its first week. The film has received mixed reviews from print media. Though the actual budget of the Bachaana is not made public, as per press reports it had a limited budget with very few characters. The film also features three songs. It was released on 84 screens. Unlike other Urdu films, it is also screened in Peshawar, KPK in Naz cinema the only cinema of the city which has started screening Urdu movies.
