Celebrities Protesting Racism, Endorsed Fairness Creams

The world is fighting against racism and everyone is chanting #BlackLivesMatter to fight against racism.

As much as other parts of the world suffer from racism, Pakistan is suffering from it. Our desi people are obsessed with fairness creams, soaps and remedies to achieve lighter skin tone.

From childhood we teach our children that black is ugly and white is beautiful, we teach our kids to differentiate among people on the basis of their skin tone. That’s how our society is!

People look celebrities for the inspiration but who knew they play equal part in raising the point ‘white is beautiful and black is ugly’. The actors who once endorsed fairness creams are now chanting  ‘Black Lives Matter’. Isn’t it hypocrisy?

Some of the most prominent celebrities who were part of fairness creams advertisements include; Zara Noor Abbas, Fawad Khan, Ayeza Khan, Mehwish Hayat, Neelum Muneer, Aiman Khan, Sajal Aly, Fahad Mustafa, Syra Yousaf, Sanam Jung, Aima Baig, Sabika Imam and many others.

On one side these celebrities raise voice for black people and on another side, they promote colourism which shows their hypocrite personality.

Here are celebrities who promoted fairness creams:

Our love for fairness creams🙈 “White is beautiful” is so ingrained in our DNA that it’ll take generations to get it out. Yes we might say #blacklivesmatter but we’d rather be dead than be a shade darker than brown. We also love telling our “friends” ke woh “fresh nahin lag rahay” (I’m guessing that means she appears darker than usual?) leaving the friend feeling perplexed. Even on our television, we’re now seeing more new heroines who’re fair skinned, almost none who’re dusky. Such a pity👎🏾 . These are ads that our celebs have been part of. I was most disappointed with Fawad doing one. 🙁 . . . . Thanku to @pkpopculture on twitter for most of these videos! . #fairnesscreamadvertisements #fairnesscream #celebendorsements #fawadkhanafiablogs #fahadmustafaafiablogs #sajalafiablogs #zaraafiablogs #mehwishhayatafiablogs #neelammuneerafiablogs #syrayousufafiablogs #mawraafiablogs #sabaqamarafiablogs #sanamjungafiablogs #ayezakhanafiablogs #aimankhanafiablogs #aimabaigafiablogs #fairandlovely #fairandhandsome #darkisbeautiful
