However, ARY Digital’s claim is facing massive public backlash. Many viewers argue that because the drama is not available on YouTube, viewership cannot be validated solely based on its performance on the ARY Plus app.
Many social media users are stating that they were not among the 1.7 billion viewers who watched Dar e Nijat. Many claimed that ARY has nothing left to do except promote its own dramas on its news channels. One user remarked that 1.7 billion is actually a low number, noting it would have performed even better if the episodes were published on ARY YouTube channel. Another said, “Just wait for Mitti De Baway to break all the records because it will be on YouTube” Many argue that the drama raises unrealistic expectations for young women by portraying unnecessary romance.
