Documentary about Kasur Scandal nominated at New York Festival

A Pakistani documentary which is about the Kasur scandal, that is, Pakistan’s biggest child sexual abuse scandal, has been nominated at the New York Festival this year.

The documentary is called Kasur’s Lost Children and is 48 minutes long. It shows an investigation that follows one activist on his quest and journey to bring justice to the victims.

Pakistani filmmaker, Shehzad Hameed has directed and produced the film.

The documentary was screened as part of the third season of Channel NewsAsia’s award-winning investigative series Undercover Asia.

This is not the first time Shehzad is being recognized by the New York Festival. In 2016, he was awarded with the gold medal in the Best Documentary: Community Portraits category for his earlier documentary Flight of the Falcons.

Kasur’s Lost Children has been nominated in the Best Documentary: Human Concerns category this year.
