Afshan Qureshi is a senior Pakistani television and film actor who has garnered fame through her excellent performance in negative characters. She has appeared in many notable Pakistani dramas including Bheegi Palkain, Baba Jani, Sheher E Malal, Mein Mehru Hun, Umeed, Siraat e Mustaqeem, Sila Aur Jannat and others. Afshan Qureshi’s husband Abid Qureshi was also an actor and they got married after developing friendship during the set of their film. Ace Pakistani actor Faysal Quraishi is Afshan Qureshi’s son. Her husband passed away when Faysal was quite young.


Recently, Afshan Qureshi appeared in Nadia Khan’s morning show Rise and Shine. In the show, the actress opened up about her financial struggles in life after her husband’s passing.

Talking about it, Afshan Qureshi said, “It was 1980 when I moved to Karachi, where I produced my drama in Adam Ji Hall. I faced a loss in the drama because our artists didn’t cooperate with me and demanded money in advance, for which I sold my cars and paid them the money. But a few artists walked out of the drama, which caused me a loss. So, I moved to Karachi because of a struggle period. I had to pay off debt, then life goes on. I am quite a hardworking type of woman. I used to craft macrame and sell them in Meena Bazaar. I did this job for around four months, but then one day, I cried in Namaz and asked Allah for help. Then I got a phone call from my director, who said, ‘Where are you, Afshan? Come, we have a drama for you.” Here is the link to the video:
