Pakistan is unfortunately not a great place for artists. There are no special allowances and the government never owns up to taking care of people who work all their lives and propagate a positive image of the country to the world. Many of or old artists from PTV and films have lived a life full of pain and poverty after their prime was over and something similar happened to veteran artist Khawaja Saleem.
Khawaja Saleem just lost his toes as he had diabetes and his foot got gangrenous. The star is living in is daughter’s house. His own house, car, bikes and even the awards that he won for his acting were all sold out to cope with the circumstances. He went to share that no one came to help him when he was in this condition and this kind of treatment for an artist can only happen in Pakistan.
