Shaan e Ramazan is one of Pakistan’s biggest Ramadan transmissions of the year. Waseem Badami and Iqrar ul Hassan host this show every year, and it features multiple unique segments such as Shaan e Ilm, a kids’ segment, a cooking segment, a Naiki segment, and others. The transmission’s most popular segment is the quiz show Shaan e Ilm, which includes general knowledge and politically based questions. After multiple rounds, three participants reach the finals, among whom one wins the trophy and prize money.

Recently, a former contestant, Osama Fazal, appeared on Shaan e Ilm and exposed what he claims to be the reality of the Shaan e Ramzan transmission.

Osama Fazal said, “Today I will expose the reality of Pakistan’s number one Ramadan transmission, Shaan e Ramzan. I will tell you that this year, in the Shaan e Ilm segment, Kabir from Lahore won, while Abdul Rehman was the runner-up. The winner received the prize money, while Abdul Rehman was given an LED. The funny thing is that the same LED was also given to a contestant who lost in the first round. Last year, I also participated in Shaan e Ramzan after spending 60,000 to 70,000 rupees, where I was the runner-up. I was not even given an LED; they only gave me a small gift hamper. Waseem Badami also said that I would receive a big gift, but nothing was given. The irony is that the set of Jeeto Pakistan is right next to Shaan e Ramzan, where people can win a bike just for doing a dance move. This shows the value of talent in Pakistan. The contestant who came third this year also traveled to Karachi to participate in the Ramadan transmission, spending a lot of money on his own. He even stayed in mosques, but got nothing in return. My question is: ARY Digital is a big channel—can’t they distribute prize money among first, second, and third place? And if the channel can’t, can’t Waseem Badami afford it?” Watch here:
Social media users are appreciating the contestant for raising his voice. The channel and its makers are also facing backlash for not honouring intelligent and educated Shaan e Ilm contestants and instead distributing bikes for dance performances in Jeeto Pakistan. Read here:
