JDC (Jafriya Disaster Management Cell Welfare) is a renowned welfare organization, Syed Zafar Abbas Jafri established JDC in 2009 with like-minded youths of Karachi. In Ramadan, JDC runs biggest Dastarkhuwans and distributes Zakat. Besides this, JDC arranges free treatments of needy patients.

Zafar Abbas said, “I am successful in resolving many issues like electricity poles just because people stood with me, however, I am facing the cases but people are safe now, they won’t die of electrical shocks, in Ramadan, the rates of fruits have been reduced because people stood with me, we stood strong infront of Mafias and the Mafias will Kill me, yes, I am giving you words that these Mafias will Kill me because no one has ever challanged them, it’s not my prediction it’s obvious, in Pakistan, no one has ever fought with Mafias, they never lost, they were rejecting Government’s rate lists and orders. Now, they are selling on right price”.

Talking about the future of JDC, he said, “It (JDC) is a ‘welfare organization’, it’s not an individual’s effort, it is a registered trust, I am an organization, if you will donate an ambulance, would it be mine or would it be JDC’s belonging, it would surely belong to JDC. This is a trust, an NGO and it will keep on running this way, systems will work in the same direction, charitable procedures won’t stop, someone else will take over the charge but it will go on.

Dastan e Armaghan was a mega project written by Zafar Mairaj and it was supposed to be directed by Adnan Sarwar. It was rumoured to have Ahmed Ali Akbar, Mehwish Hayat, Annie Jaffry, Mawra Hocane, Naveen Waqar and Neelam Muneer in lead roles but it got lost somewhere.

Main Manto Nahi Hoon:

Main Manto Nahi Hoon is written by Khalil ur Rehman Qamar and it was supposed to be directed by Nadeem Baig with Humayun Saeed and Maya Ali in lead roles. But the project was stalled due to the team’s other commitments as it looked like from a far. Earlier Mehwish Hayat was also rumoured to be considered for the lead but the drama definitely got lost somewhere in the process.

Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo:

A hit novel by Farhat Ishtiaq will be dramatized some day and fans are eagerly waiting for that time to come. Many big names like Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan and Ahad Raza Mir have been attached to the project and it was rumoured to be directed by Mohammad Ehtashamuddin. But as with the other projects, things did not work out.

Ibn e Adam:

Ibn e Adam was rumoured to bring back Fitoor couple Hiba Bukhari and Faysal Quraishi and other details were not released either. A few BTS did come out for Ibn e Adam which made it look interesting but the drama did not air.

Sanwal Yaar Piya

Sanwal Yaar Piya is another mega project written by Hashim Nadeem and it was supposed to be directed by Wajahat Rauf thus bringing back the Raqs e Bismil writer-director duo. The cast included Feroze Khan, Iqra Aziz and Imran Ashraf making it a big project but after Feroze Khan’s controversy, Iqra Aziz withdrew from the project and now its fate hangs in balance whether it would be made or not and what the cast would be.

Some of these dramas may never release while others may come out sooner than expected nonetheless, these are some exciting projects that people are looking forward to!

Chand Tara is a special Hum TV Ramadan serial which is featuring the gorgeous and talented Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor. Ayeza Khan is playing the character of an amazing doctor and Danish Taimoor is portraying the role of a software engineer. The cast also includes Romaisa Khan, Aashir Wajahat, Adnan Jaffar, Saba Faisal, Behroze Sabzwari, Madiha Iftikhar and Rehan Sheikh.

Laiba Khan is a newcomer in the industry and she has already managed to get noticed and has made a space for herself in the dramas. Laiba Khan just performed Umrah and it was the very first Umrah of her life. Laiba was a guest on Rabia Anum’s Ramadan transmission and shared how surreal the experience was for her. She revealed that when she started her Hifz ul Quran at the age of 8 or 9, she has since wanted to perform Umrah. Her paternal grandfather was the first person in her family who went to Makkah for Hajj and and at that time she decided that she will perform Umrah as well.

She also shared that looking at Kaabah for the very first time was an out of this world experience for her. She went with her mother and grandmother and it was a great experience of her life.
