Hazim Bangwar became an overnight sensation after his pictures went viral all over the internet and people were shocked to see such a modern and trendy Assistant Commissioner amongst themselves. Hazim has lived in UK and USA throughout his life and now he has come back to serve his own country.

Pakistani male actors are not really given diverse roles and we generally see them in the same tall haircuts with perfectly contoured beards, clad in expensive suits and playing the ultra-macho hero in a story with a damsel in distress waiting for rescue. The actors thus have limited room for performance and limited stories and scripts being offered to them. Muneeb Butt took a chance as he performed Sarang Shabbir, an intersex boy in the limited series Sar e Rah and the challenges he goes through before becoming an Assistant Commissioner in Pakistan.

A scene from the drama went viral out of context and there has been a lot of debate on it on social media platforms. Maria B had also criticized the drama as the out of context scene seemed to promote the transgender agenda in the country as put by some netizens.

Muneeb Butt was a guest on Obaid Attique’s podcast on The Kult and he clarified the situation. He shared that he is playing an intersex character whom people call “Khawaja Sira” in Urdu and the role his father plays in his journey. He added that trans is a term used for people who change their gender by choice while an intersex individual is born that way naturally which he is depicting.

Saba Qamar’s Sar E Raah secures 3rd position on Trps and views. An average episode of mini series collects 7.8 million views. Well, Geo TV’s Qalandar is on number 4 as per views and Trps. Qalandar’s each episode collects around 6 million views. Osman Khalid Butt & Sana Javed’s Kala Doriya is on number 5th and its episodes collect around 4 million views. Hamza Ali Abbasi is a brilliant Pakistani television and film actor who announced to quit the media industry soon after a spiritual awakening. However, his film The Legend of Maula Jatt got released when left the media.

Well, recently the news of actor’s comeback is doing rounds on Instagram. The actor has also posted the teaser of his upcoming drama on his Instagram. Hamza Ali Abbasi said, “happy to introduce you to the captivating world of our upcoming project Jan E Jahan”. He announced the news on his official Instagram post along with the details of the drama project.

According to the details, Hamza Ali Abbasi will be doing the drama serial named Jan E Jahan. It will be a grand production of 2023. The drama will be produced by ace producer Samina Humayun Saeed & Sana Shahnawaz under the banner of Next Level Entertainment Productions. The story of the drama is written by Rida Bilal and it will be directed by Qasim Ali Mureed. The female lead of the drama is not yet revealed. Pakistani drama content has been getting a lot of criticism lately for showing toxicity and abuse not just by the audience and critics but from within the industry as well. Actors are over showing the same sort of negativity, saas-bahu sagas and women falling for abusive relationships but that is the kind of content that is being made again and again and it, unfortunately, gets a lot of ratings as well. One such drama that recently was trending every week was Kaisi Teri Khudgarzi starring Danish Taimoor and Durefishan Saleem.

The drama portrayed a girl who ends up falling in love with her stalker and kidnapper and yearns for him all her life after his death. Many people were appalled by what was portrayed on screen and now Yasir Hussain has also criticized the drama. The actor was a guest on Freiha Altaf’s podcast where he spoke about what was on his mind.

Yasir said that though our films are censored so heavily but that is where the audience decides to watch the content when they buy tickets but in dramas, people are being trained and information is being programmed in them for free. A drama where a guy who snatches a girl away from her father is shown as a hero and the girl falls for him in the end.
