Tere Bin’s director Siraj ul Haque was a guest on Fuchsia magazine where he was asked about the similarities between the two dramas and how Tere Bin’s scenes looking like Iss Pyar KO Kya Naam Doon became a talk of the town. He was asked if he was inspired by those scenes or not.

However, as is the case with humans in the country who never get justice, animals are facing the same fate. We often see cases of animal cruelty all over social media. There are videos which go viral. Many of our celebrities have started working against animal cruelty and for animal rehabilitation including Yashma Gill, Ushna Shah and Mathira to name a few.

A similar episode of animal cruelty happened when a group of students from NUST university were visiting Kumrat Valley and two students distressed a goat by lifting it through its ears and legs while other students were filming the whole incident.

Geo Television’s recent drama Tere Bin has become talk of the town because of its storyline and the performances of ace actors like Yumna Zaidi and Wahaj Ali. Fans are liking their chemistry as Meerab & Murtasim. The script of the drama is written by Nooran Makhdoom and it has been directed by Siraj Ul Haque. Hazim Bangwar became an overnight sensation after his pictures went viral all over the internet and people were shocked to see such a modern and trendy Assistant Commissioner amongst themselves. Hazim has lived in UK and USA throughout his life and now he has come back to serve his own country.

He came as a guest on Mathira’s show where he revealed that he has been in Hollywood’s music industry and he has worked with artists like Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande. He was studying when he started writing songs for artists to support himself and his talent got noticed.

However, he always felt that people in Pakistan were not getting even basic necessities when he could eat at the World’s best restaurants and wear all the brands out there. This made him come back and take the commission’s examination which he passed and now a days he is serving the public in North Nazimabad Karachi. Hazm shared that many people told him not to get into public service and go back abroad as he is already settled there but he worked towards his aim and is now doing what he wanted to do for his countrymen all along.

Pakistani male actors are not really given diverse roles and we generally see them in the same tall haircuts with perfectly contoured beards, clad in expensive suits and playing the ultra-macho hero in a story with a damsel in distress waiting for rescue. The actors thus have limited room for performance and limited stories and scripts being offered to them. Muneeb Butt took a chance as he performed Sarang Shabbir, an intersex boy in the limited series Sar e Rah and the challenges he goes through before becoming an Assistant Commissioner in Pakistan.

A scene from the drama went viral out of context and there has been a lot of debate on it on social media platforms. Maria B had also criticized the drama as the out of context scene seemed to promote the transgender agenda in the country as put by some netizens.

Muneeb Butt was a guest on Obaid Attique’s podcast on The Kult and he clarified the situation. He shared that he is playing an intersex character whom people call “Khawaja Sira” in Urdu and the role his father plays in his journey. He added that trans is a term used for people who change their gender by choice while an intersex individual is born that way naturally which he is depicting.

The Old Lollywood industry had some names that shined and we used to see those actors and actresses in nearly every other film. One such pair that gathered so much love from people were Sahiba and Rambo. The duo has done many films in their careers and many were together. They stopped working in films after the downfall of the industry but they have still remained in touch with the industry through their work and appearances on television. They did not become bitter but chose to cherish new trends and artists for their work.

Sahiba married Rambo at the very peak of her career and she did not work too much after that. We are, however, now seeing her a bit on television and she is also running her salon. Sajiba and Rambo gave an interview recently where Sahiba was asked who she thinks is the no.1 actor and actress in the industry.

Sahiba said that Mahira Khan is hands down the biggest star in Pakistan as she has achieved a level of fame that has not been achieved by many. She also praised other actresses and she rated Feroze Khan as the no.1 male star now a days in her interview.

Pakistani dramas are the major source of entertainment for a major chunk of Pakistanis. They watch all these dramas mostly based on the stories of a lead actress who is a damsel in distress and she is going through a lot of cruelty from her husband and in-laws. Many Pakistanis are not too active on social media and especially women who watch dramas have nothing to do with the world of Instagram.
