Hania Aamir is one of Pakistan’s most popular actresses, with over 19 million Instagram followers. She has starred in hit dramas like Mere Humsafar, Ishqiya, Dil Ruba, Titli, Visaal, and Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum. She was recently seen in a Sunsilk Shampoo campaign in Bangladesh, where she appeared in long and thick silky hair which was in fact a wig. In reality, Hania prefers very short haircuts and uses wigs in dramas, advertisements, and public events. In the Sunsilk campaign, she promoted the shampoo with the promise that it makes hair smoother, longer, and thicker.

Recently, Bangladeshi fans of Pakistani dramas have been discussing the flawed strategy of marketing teams. Instead of hiring someone with naturally healthy hair, they chose beautiful actor with a strong social media following, which failed to impress the public because many already know the reality of superstar’s hair. Fans suggested that the brand should have hired someone with naturally long and healthy hair. They even gave the example of Hania Aamir’s co-actor Naeema Butt, who drew attention for her long hair and confident personality in Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum.

In the comments section, many agreed with this view. Several said they had the same thought when they found out that Hania Aamir was chosen as the face of Sunsilk in Bangladesh. A fan wrote, “I don’t know how the creative head approved this idea of hiring Hania for a shampoo campaign.” Another commented, “I’m glad someone pointed it out.” One questioned, “Is it the face that sells, and not the hair?” while another said, “Finally, people are making sense.” Read comments:
